Below is brief introduction of PTFE filled Rods, Bars:
There are three different types of molding processes for PTFE filled rods.
l PTFE filled Rods with diameters between 1mm to 4mm are produced in extrusion molding from PTFE dispersion resins. They are normally packed in rolls.
l Rods with diameters between 3mm to 4mm are produced in pressing molding from PTFE suspension resins.
l PTFE filled Rods with diameters between 6mm to 400mm can be mold pressing into short rods, in which can be blended with various fillers in order to enhance their properties. The fillers range from molybdenum disulfides, Polytetrafluoroethylene, carbon fibers, graphite, copper, toners, etc.
All the known plastics, PTFE has some remarkable properties: it will not attacked by corrosive acids, even if they were hot; it did not dissolve in solvents; it could be cooled to -180°C without becoming brittle and it could be heated to 260°C without impairing its performance. PTFE materials also are extremely stable and nonflammable; clean, dry, non-oily and non-staining. The material is biologically inert and does not support biological growth (that is, it is non-pyrogenic). PTFE offer an extremely low static coefficient of friction, which stems from the extremely low intermolecular forces in the PTFE molecule itself.
