Introduction of teflon coating technology, for rotational mould,
The grey layer is of teflon coating. Its color can be green, black or red, or even pink if you like, :).
But why some moulds have that coating, and some do not, how to make decision?
Briefly to say, teflon coating can help demoulding operation, or to say make the roto molded part leave mould cavity more easily. But in the same time, with teflon coating, the molded part sometimes leaves mould cavity too easily and too early, which intensifies the distortion related with shrinkage.
Well, we have very good experience in judging if to apply teflon coating or not, and how to do that properly. With proper design, as per our experience, the shrinkage off a roto mold coated with teflone, can be controlled very well.
