Whisky lactone
4-Hydroxy-3-methyl-octalactone or 4-methyl-5-butyl-2H-furanone-2
Whisky lactone has another name of β-methyl-γ-octalactone,which is one of the series of furanone in our company,and it has cis-isomer and trans-isomer.It has found in whisy at first,and it is one of the components of aroma in whisky,and generally it is called whisky lactone.
Appearance: Colorless to pale yellow liquid
Odor: a very fiece,stong and sweet aroma similar to coumarin
Application: In flavoring essence,it can be applied in beverage,candy,biscuit,bread and lots of roasted food.And if it is apllied in tobacco essence,its aroma is much more elegant than coumarin lactone,and it have a wide range of aroma.According to spray it(1-10ppt)to tobacco directly,the aroma of tabacco can be evidently improved.And also it can be used in wine.
Storage: Store in a sealed container of with full of gas,and it should be stored in a dry shade.
