The ILODO Digital Exercycle consists of software and hardware systems. The software systemis mainly used for presenting virtual scenes of racing, one of which is that virtualathletes controlled by players and computer respectively compete in the same arena. Andthe hardware system includes a high performance graphics server, a projector, a largescreen and an exercycle with an electronic sensor. When players are doing exercise on theexercycle, an electronic meter, through the sensor, transmits parameters of the exercycleincluding speed to the host of the computer that will use those parameters to manipulatevirtual roles to ride a bike in a 3-D scene. The speed of the player on the exercycle willhave a direct impact on that of the virtual role. Players can compete with virtual roles orcartoon animals that are manipulated automatically by the computer in the virtual scene,or with other exercycle players on line, with a lot of competitiveness and fun.Functions:Automatic speed metering and real-time transmitting for having the electronic meter. In virtual setting, each exercycle can control one virtual athlete, and other ones willbe manipulated by other exercycles or in an artificial intelligence way by computer; andMulti-player online competing mode.Each exercycle can be used alone or through the online competing unit allowing players to compete inthe same virtual scene, bringing players more competitiveness and fun. The online competing unit developedby the company enables C/S (Client/Server) Mode and P2P (Point-to-Point) Mode, thus resulting in higheraccess speed to the greatest extent and lower buffer time. It allows players to compete with each other online through LAN or Internet.
