A drum thickener is often constructed as an enclosed unit. At the inside, it is the rotary drum with polyester filter belt wrapped around it. The drum is driven by a gearmotor, controlled by the electric control panel. A spiral plate inside of the drum leads the dewatered sludge out through the outlet of the drum. To clean the filter belt, a flushing bar with nozzles is equipped.
