Tin Free Steel (TFS)
Is also known as chromed steel, as it is obtained by coating the metal base (low-carbon steel) with an ultra-thin layer of metallic chrome and then with a chromium oxide layer. As a common practice. It is produced in bulk quantities over and above the actual requirements. Our prime interest lies in the excess production and non-prime quality TFS available in all shapes, forms and sizes. Also produced by applying electrolytic chromic acid treatment over steel sheets. This steel product was developed to meet economic requirements, and xcels tinplate in paintability, paint adhesion, and economy. It is widely used for aking beverage cans and 18-liter cans. It is also used for making photographic film cases and as a protective material for optical fiber cables.
Features of TFS Products:
Paint adhesion————TFS has excellent paint adhesion properties that far surpass those of TIN PLATE, allowing its use for making DRD cans and adhesive bonded cans.
Heat resistance————High-temperature baking causes neither discoloration nor deterioration in material properties.
Resistance to black——Excellent resistance to black sulfide stain makes it the most suitable material for making fish cans. sulfide stain.
