This is the steel that is on the Benchmade Vex that is hardened to 56 -58 Rc. But 8CR14MOV can be hardened to 60RC WITHOUT cryo. and many others are using this Chinese steel, you may have one and not even know it. Kershaw, Spyderco, CRKT, Benchmade - most all of them use it now and some since 2006.
