Solar Water Heating Collectors/Systems
The growing use of Corugated Flexible Stainless Steel Pipe within the solar water heating industry is expanding fast in Europe and the USA.
Here in China, the manufactures of solar collectors and combinations systems leave the important task of plumbing pipe and insulation choice to the often untrained installer.
On a recent visit to a test and inspection centre in Haining (the Capital of the solar water heating industry) I found all manner of pipes used to connect from the collector to the water tank and from the water tank/collector to the tempature testing collection centre was.
Most of the so called plumbing pipe was PEX al PEX with very reduced brass fittings, that would reduce flow rates and cause over heating if installed in a close loop system, but would fail over 90c
Also rubber hose pipes and clear hose pipes used in other industries.
The very cheap insulation tube was only partly covering these mix of plumbing pipes.
Selecting a manufacture for the Corugated flexible pipe in China is not difficult to do, but to find a manufacture who understands the western plumbing systems and standard is impossible to find, except those who find our company.

Our Flange making tool, retains the diameter of the corugated pipe when locking together the tool bolt and one of our union nuts that flattens two rings together.
For the plumber solar installer who I consider the most important person in the sale and installation of any type of solar water heating system, is that the cost of any tools, should be a minium cost, free of charge, not bulky and heavy and can gurantee a leak free seal when the bolt and union nut have been applied as to the recomendation by the manufacture, exporter.
