Si3N4 Bonded SiC Bricks are produced using high quality silicon carbide and industrial silicon powder as starting materials, firing at high temperature by nitridation reaction. Characterized by good thermal shock resistance, good alkali corrosion resistance, good slag resistance, high strength and high thermal conductivity, the bricks are mainly used in severe parts of iron-making blast furnace, such as the lower part of stack, belly, bosh and tuyere. The bricks were awarded the The 2nd Prize of National Science & Technology Progress by the former Metallurgy Ministry in 1987. The bricks have been used successfully in about 10 large steel companies such as Baosteel and Wuhan Iron and Steel Corporation in China, and also have been exported to some countries and regions such as Russia, etc.
