mimaki JV33 printer

Detailed Product Description

Applied Image Technology is gearing up for a re-run of the sales success it recorded with the Mimaki JV3 solvent inkjet printers. The large-format systems specialist believes the launch of the next generation JV33 will be greeted with a similar welcome by the market and is all ready with a turnkey package that includes the latest release of its Shiraz PostScript RIP. "The marriage of the Mimaki JV3 and our Shiraz RIP was a match made in heaven and resulted in our selling considerably more of the machines than any other UK dealer," says AIT managing director, Roger Ward. "The JV3 was the first solvent inkjet printer with the potential to deliver the level of image quality and productivity the industry needed and, thanks to Shiraz, users found they were much better able to exploit this.""Five years on, the JV3 is still one of our best-selling printers of all time, and certainly the most popular solvent inkjet, but the JV33 promises such a raft of improvements to productivity and quality that it is bound to take over as No 1."The principle advance of the JV33 over the JV3 is Mimaki's newly-developed piezo printhead, as piloted by the larger JV5 series last year. Instead of four separate dual-duct printheads, the JV33 has just one head containing the eight ducts, each of which has 180 ink nozzles. Alignment errors when setting the heads, as well as banding problems are thus eliminated, ink delivery accuracy is optimised and print speeds increased by up to 30 per cent. When printing in four-colours, the JV33 employs two ink cartridges per colour to maximise uninterrupted operation without supervision. For applications such as printing on transparent or opaque media, the Mimaki "white ink overlay" can be employed, the simultaneous white and full-colour printing delivering exceptionally bright, vivid and high density prints.  The JV33 is equipped with an uninterrupted ink supply system for use when four-colour printing. This allows the user to produce large prints or long runs without fear of running out of ink. Four types of ink are available: SS21 (including white ink), ES3 solvent ink, aqueous pigment ink, and dye sublimation ink. Throughput is also boosted by the addition of a post heater to augment the pre-print heaters to minimise ink drying time and thus permit faster
