2.INTRODUCTION
THT-FZG Neutral Grounding Resistors cubicle is a complete set of equipment specially used for the power generator’s neutral point adapts the high resistance grounding. Generator Neutral shall be Non-effectively earthed through a single phase transformer with its secondary winding loaded with a suitable resistance. This method permits sensitive ground fault protection and at the same time limits the ground fault current to a low value, thus minimizing damage at fault point.
3.PRINCIPLE
If a system has a neutral point, as with a wye connected generator, there are two methods for arranging grounding equipment. The simplest method: the resistor is connected directly from the neutral point to ground. The other method, using a single phase transformer connected from a wye point to ground. The resistance value reduced by the square of the turns ration of the transformer.
The –FZG type generator neutral grounding resistor is designed as the second method to protect the generator from earth fault damage.
