The KM512 product, with the same external design but differentiated by drop volume capability, can handle a wide range of non-aqueous inks based on oil, solvent and UV curable chemistry. To accommodate the widest possible range of applications the KM256 Aq is designed for water-based inks. Customers can choose the best-fitted model in accordance with their applications.
The KM512 product is further divided into H type and N type, which stands for "with heater" and "without heater" respectively. Inks which have high viscosity at room temperature can be heated up to 55 degrees Celsius with the H type's internal heater.
This series is specially designed to have a "wing" structure so that users can align the printheads precisely without difficulty. This feature allows easy combination of page-width printhead units for the purpose of single-pass high-speed printing.
KM512 product consists of type L, M and S, corresponding to unit drop volume capabilities of 42pl, 14pl and 4pl respectively. The type M and S can be driven in both binary and 4 level grey-scale mode.
While the KM512 L product is good for marking and coding applications in 360dpi single-pass print mode, the KM512 M product is suitable for high quality 720 dpi multi-pass printing. The KM512 S product, with its super-small droplet size and grey-scale capability of 7 drops per pixel, is best for super-fine image printing at 1440 dpi resolution.
