Introduction of Diatomaceous earth:

Diatomite is aquatic plant diatomaceous debris sediments, its is very tiny, the size is about 10 u - 30 u. Due to more than one thousand years of underground buried, then formed the diatomaceous earth ore. The main content is SiO2. It has a large number of microspore, non-crystalline SiO2.

Characteristic

Function

1. Improving the adhesive ability and adhesive strength of asphalt in mixtures, then increasing the hardness of asphalt to change the high temperature performance of mixtures, then make the asphalt mixture high density, low permeability and decrease the growth rate of hardening in later period.

Operation

Normally 12%~15% of asphalt quantity is better. If for intensive distribution of asphalt mixture or asphalt macadam, the quantity should be 12%±2%. If for anti-sliding layer pavement structure, the quantity should be 13%±2%. The maximum quantity of active silica is not exceed to 17%.
