RASCHIG Ring succeeded in separating carbolic acid into finer fractions

At the end of the 19th century the invention of the RASCHIG Ring was a major breakthrough in process engineering. it succeeded in separating carbolic acid into finer fractions, using RASCHIG Rings which he inserted in a distillation column. The efficiency in the purification process with RASCHIG Rings was far superior to all other processes known at the time, because of the large interface between the dropping liquid and the rising vapour.
