ECTN:ELECTRONIC CARGO TRACKING NOTE ECTN must own when shipment into CONGO.

The ECTN must be necessarily validated at the latest 5 days before the arrival of the ship to destination.

According to decree 98-29 of January, 30TH  1998 and instruction N°527/CCC/DG of December 18th 2003,the General Director of the Congolese Shippers Council(Pointe Noire;Republic of Congo),would like to remind all traders of bulk,general cargo,container,RORO that cargo import to the Republic of Congo must be covered by an Electronic Cargo Tracking Note (ECTN).

Carriers,shippers,forwarders,consignees etc. have to comply with the regulations that were formulated within the framework of the Electronic Cargo Tracking Note,and the issuing of the ECTN by the Agents of the Congolese Shippers Council at the various ports of loading.

The Electronic Cargo Tracking Note is an official document that contains a certain amount of information such as the costs related to the traffic,the value of goods etc. The shipper,carrier or agent must bylaw provide this information in order to get an ECTN issued.

The General Director of the Congolese Shippers Council would also like to remind all its representatives or agents of the policy not to approve or validate an ECTN that is incomplete, or that contains obviously conflicting information.Otherwise,customs at destination will consider the ECTN of no value.

In order to avoid any inconvenience to the consignee while completing the customs facilities,the General Director of the CCC invites all carriers,shippers,forwarders and consignees etc. to act upon the prevailing Congolese Regulations. Customs control at port of discharge will ensure the compliance with the Congolese Instructions,if necessary inflicting a fine.
