Xinluo Melamine Foam is used in automotive construction together with felt or plastic covers. Aside from outstanding acoustic engineering properties, Xinluo MF’s high heat resistance, high fire safety, very favorable fogging behavior, chemical resistance and, last but not least, low weight are specially valued by the automotive industry.
Laminated absorber elements are suitable for installation under the hood as well as for heat shields in front of automobiles’ firewalls and in transmission tunnels. Due to the high flexural strength, covers made of Xinluo MF allow the production of engine hoods that offer optimized protection to pedestrians. In this way, the more stringent requirements that are now necessary in terms of pedestrian protection can be met.
Xinluo MF is a flexible, open cell foam made from melamine resin, a thermoset polymer. The outstanding properties of MF are its high sound-absorption capacity, flame-retardant characteristics, high-temperature resistance, low weight and thermal insulation. MF is used in a variety of applications and industries (i.e. construction & industry, automotive, transportation and consumer i.e. cleaning) due to its excellent properties. MF can be installed quickly and simply since it is lightweight and free of mineral fibers.
Thermal Insulation
3-D grid structure can block the convection of air and the conduction of heat effectively, which make it to be light and excellent material for heat preservation and insulation together with its unique stability. That’s why it is very difficult for MF to be replaced by other materials.
Flame Retardant
MF could meet the requirement of GB/T8624-2006B, DIN-4102B1 and UL94-96V-0 without adding any flame retardant materials. With the low smoke density(less than 15) and the carbonization character, MF was recommended to be the first flame retardant material in the book < Flame Retardant Technology and Fireproofing Security in Public Area>, which was compiled by the Public Security Department of P.R. China.
Thermal Stability
MF is thermoset plastics with effective 3-D grid structure system. It has high thermal stability and good aging resistance. So MF has been proved to work in different climate environment ranged from -180°C to 200°C for long term.
Environment and Security
MF is made from melamine resin which can be used to produce dishware. So it is green material to meet the requirement of environment protection. No toxic gas releases when it is burn.
