1. Foam Preparation
#0316 urea formaldehyde resin powder is a powdered form of standard urea formaldehyde resin. It is an easy-to-use, long-shelf-life and easy-to-transport powder product. The foam can be prepared from water solution of uf resin and then cured by an acidic hardener before removal of residual water by drying. By atomizing air or other inert gases into the resin solution or the hardener solution, they can first be converted into foam by incorporating a foaming agent followed by foam production. The foam is then blended with hardener to cure without collapse. A specially designed gun is used to produce the foam by foaming agent in a foaming chamber with the aid of pressurized air and then uniformly spraying the foamed agent with the water solution of the uf resin. There will be no noticeable exothermic reaction or post expansion of the foam. The foam will at last fill any shaped cavity.
2. Application Areas
The UF foam insulation is now used primarily for masonry walls in commercial or industrial buildings. It has been used with excellent results as thermal insulation between precast concrete cladding or marble curtain wall and supporting structures of multi-story complexes or any similar porous cavity constructions. It has also been used to provide both sound insulation and fire protection for laundry and garbage incinerator chutes.
