Construction Method
Base Concrete1. The minimum quantity of cement for base concrete is 300kg/m3. Concerning the design of mixing ratio of concrete, it is necessary to reduce isolation as much as possible and control water secretion, in practical construction a certain quantity of secreted water is needed to ensure the hardener can be sufficiently moistened after the first dry shake. 2. It is recommended to adopt admixture to control the water cement ratio under 0.55, and the site slump of base concrete shall range from 75mm to 100mm.3. The base concrete shall be poured and vibrated as per standards to ensure the flatness of concrete surface and reduce surface laitance.4. The construction of base concrete corner needs quite attention to ensure its compactionConstruction1. The average coverage percentage of the hardener shall be 4~6kg/m2. It is recommended to Premark the construction area and calculate the quantity of material as per the recommended coverage percentage. The minimum percentage of 4kg/m2 is applicable to light load, and the maximum percentage of 6kg/m2 is applicable to heavy load.2. When the base concrete hardens to certain stage and a 3-6mm depth footprint is left after being stepped on, Polar Bear brand ground hardener shall be used immediately at this stage when the secreted water has vaporize completely while the surface of concrete still keeps humid. 3. For large area construction, the hardener must be used as per schedule and correct time shall be controlled following the construction team of base concrete.4. Polar Bear brand ground hardener shall be used in two steps (take 5kg/m2 for example)a. Scatter hardener on concrete with the quantity of 3kg/m2 in the first time (about 60 % of the total) and proceed the first level-up after the hardener absorbs the moisture of base concrete and becomes dark. The level-up tool is wooden spatula, and machine is also applicable for large area construction. b. Following the first level-up, scatter the rest hardener with the quantity of 2kg/m2 (about 40 % of the total) evenly on the concrete, the working direction is vertical to that in the last step. In the same manner the hardener will absorb moisture and become dark, and another same level-up operation as the last step shall be conducted.5. The final polishing work shall be done with level-up machine, and the ground has achieved sufficient hardness to resist destruction. 6. The time of using the hardener is very important, sufficient manpower, equipment and materials shall be ready when base concrete achieves the operation conditions. All the required performances cannot be achieved if the secreted water still exists and the hardener is used quite earlier...7. Color ground needs special attention and protection for fear of destruction and pollution after being completed. Usually to adopt the correct coverage percentage is very important to avoid the potential color difference.CleaningAfter being used, all the equipments shall be cleaned with clean water as soon as possible before materials become hard. MaintenanceIn order to achieve the designated physical performance, the ground hardened with Polar Bear ground hardener must go through correct maintenance. A certain time after being leveled up and polished with machine, the ground shall be sprayed with special maintenance agent or maintained with PVC film..
