FRP Geological stabilization (Composite Rock Bolts)

There are situations in the mining and earthworks industries where stabilization of the earth or underground mining operations are essential for both safety and long term stability.

Reinforcing of the structure can be performed using composite rods and profiles by using them as anchors or ties to restrain movement in these structures. They can also be use as temporary wall anchors for underground coal mining operations where their ability to be able to cut with diamond cutter bits affords the mine operator greater production efficiencies and enhanced operator safety.

Benefits over steel:

Maintenance free Will not rust or rot Will not fracture at low temperatures Do not interfere with electrical, magnetic, electromagnetic and gamma ray analysis of material surrounding the tunnel They are cuttable and suitable for temporary support Have a rough exterior surface that promotes adhesion with grouts and resin cartridges.
