MBR TECHNOLOGY INTRODUCTION
Membrane bioreactor (Membrane Bio-Reactor, referred to as MBR) is a new kind of wastewater
treatment and reuse processes combination, which is a combination of traditional biotechnology
and efficient membrane separation technologies.
The technology is not only in the biological reaction tanks to maintain high levels of microbial
biomass to increase processing unit volume load and save room, but also the conduct of efficient
solid-liquid separation to replace the traditional process of sedimentation and filtration
technologies. So, systems water quality can be mixed directly as non-potable water for municipal
reuse.
Due to the presence of membranes, it greatly enhanced the ability of solid-liquid separation
systems. Micro-organisms are completely trapped in the bio-reactor to achieve a hydraulic
retention time and sludge age activated sludge compete separation. It can also eliminate sludge
bulking problem which oflen exists in the conversional activated sludge processes. Membrane
