Dried whole grass, twist wrapped into a mission-like, gray-green to gray-brown. There is a taproot, about 2 ~ 4 mm thick, fibrous roots thin, light gray-brown; stem thin and curly, crisp easy to break, the central white pith. Leaves many broken, very wrinkled, easy-off; a stipule, long a ~ 2 mm. Flowers axillary. Gas minimal, tasteless. Summer, autumn harvest, drying or fresh use.
