Weeping Forsythia
Weeping forsythia is the same as border forsythia except for its weeping growth habit. The best growing area for weeping forsythia is a sunny location with any reasonable soil. Weeping forsythia transplants well and grows rapidly. Most weeping forsythia have a mature height and spread of 8 to 10 feet.
The weeping forsythia bears yellow flowers in the spring before the leaves express themselves. Weeping forsythia tolerates city conditions and is useful on banks because the branches root where they touch the ground. There are several cultivars of weeping forsythia such as 'atrocaulis', 'decipiens', 'fortunei', 'pallida', and 'sieboldi'.

he weeping forsythia is one of the first shrubs to bloom in spring. Weeping forsythia erupts with bright golden yellow flowers all along its bare leafless branches when most plants are still in winter dormancy. The flowers are 12 in across with four narrow petals that spread out at right angles from a short tube. Weeping forsythia grows in a fountain like mound up to 10 ft tall and 15 ft across, with multiple stems that arch up and outward.
The slender stems are hollow between the nodes and dotted with numerous raised lenticels. The leaves, which begin to emerge after the flowers are already open, are arranged in opposing pairs along the long, arching stems.
