Wanhua Ecoboard reduces forest clear-cutting, air pollution and landfill use. The sorghum stalks used in the manufacture of Wanhua board are a rapidly renewable resource left after the edible portion of the plant is harvested.
Wanhua's product contained no-added formaldehyde, used surplus wheat straw fibre, machined easily and was manufactured in China. For furniture manufacturing the equivalent replacement panel is an eco-friendly, medium-density fibre board (MDF) - plywoods are expensive and have edge-sealing issues, as do particle boards.
