solution is neutral.
4.Stability: It is stable at the room temperature. In the aqueous solution, the monomer hydrolysis very slowly, so you must add the inhibitor to prevent the auto-agglutination; under the PH value of sodium solution is more than 9,it has the excellent resistance to hydrolysis,, the homopolymer has the excellent thermal stability.
5.Polymerism:AMPS monomer could carry out the homopolymerization and the copolymerization. Heat of polymerization of the AMPS mixed with water in average is 22 kcal/mole, the water and the dimethyl formamide both could be taken as the medium of the polymerization.

Applications:
1) Textile industry: AMPS is the important monomer to improve the performance of arylic fibers(vinyl fibers), the amount is 1-4% in total fibers.AMPS fiber has excellent whiteness,dyeability ,air permeability,anti-static and flame-retar.
2) Water treatment chemical: The HMW copolymers polymerized by AMPS and water-soluble monomers,such as acrylic acid and acrylamido, can be used in the purification of water treatment and waste water treatment.Low molecular weight copolymers can be used as anti-crrosive of recycled water,detergents and scale in hibitors of boiler &cooling tower.
3) Oilfield chemical: The HMW homopolymers and copolymers of AMPS and its salt form have good heat to lerance resitance and salt resitance .It can be used as additives of mud,protecting oil gel,controlling agents and thickeners of solid substances.In the course of oil production,its polymer is as an additive to enhanced oil recovery and can reduce water pollution.
Other applications: AMPS polymer has a good solubility in water and electrical conductivity .It's used to check the chelation of equipments in medicion .Due to the structural characters of AMPS, it can be used as drainage aids,sizing agents and strength enhancers of the papermaking,can also be used in painting ,ceramic industry ,electronics industry ,cosmetics and other fields.
