In recently years, drilling technology has progressed significantly and this put forward new requirements regarding development of new functions for roller cone bits. In order to adapt the drilling process changes and drilling market demands, We introduced new series bits with different functions timely while upgrading the basic capabilities of its existing products, for example, the high-speed motor bits, the hard formation bits, the air drilling roller cone bits, the slim hole series bits, etc. so as to provide convenience for customers to make proper selection of bits and avoid drilling accident because of improper selection.

    1.Bit diameter code: indicated by numbers (integer or fraction). The numbers indicate diameter of the bit in inches.

    2.Bit classification code:According to the regulations in SPE/IADC23937, bit classification code consists of three digits, the first digit stands for cutting structure and formation code, the second one stands for formation classification code, and the last digit stands for rock bit structure feature code.
    3.Additional structure features of the bit:When bits need to be improved or to be reinforced to meet special requirements of drilling application and formation, the additional structure features, which indicated by one or more letters, will be added to the classification code.

For example: an 8-1/2 HJT537GL tri-cone bit 
8-1/2: Bit diameter is 8-1/2 inches (215.9mm)
HJT: Metal face sealed journal bearing, special gage protection
537: Insert bit for drilling in soft to medium hard formation with low compressive strength
G: Reinforced bit head D
L: Bit head OD stabilization pad
