Application of Magnetic SeparatorThe Magnetic Separator is suitable for wet magnetic separation of materials such as magnetite, calcined ore, etc. and it can remove the iron in the coal, non-metal and construction industries. The magnetic system is made from high quality ferrite magnetic materials and /or rare earth magnet steel. On the shell surface, the magnet intensity is 100-600mt. The wet type permanent magnet cylindrical separator is commonly used for iron ore separation. It is suitable for separating materials with high magnetism. In recent years, it has been used as concentrating equipment in place of magnetic dewatering cell.

Advantages:It has the following advantages: short magnetic circuit, little magnetic flux leakage, high magnetic intensity, low energy consumption, fine beneficiating results, simple structure and easy to maintain.

Detailed Description: The magnetic separator is magnetic system made up of a closed magnetic circuit that is ring shaped and energizing coils that are made up of copper tubing cooled internally by water. There is a magnetic matrix in the form of grooved plates made of magnetic conductive stainless steel.

The features of the separator include a short magnetic circuit, low magnetic flux leakage, high magnetic intensity, high beneficiating results, and low energy consumption. Their simple structure makes them easy to use and maintain. The wet-type permanent magnetic separator consists of four main parts namely the cylinder, magnetic system, cell, and the transmission mechanism.

The separators adopt a cyclic design and the diameter of the process vessel ranges from 220mm to 3,050mm according to suitability. Bent and welded stainless steel of 2-3mm is used in the manufacture of the cylinder, which accommodates the magnetic system. The cylinder is covered using a forged aluminum plate which is connected using stainless bolts. A decelerated machine is used to facilitate the rotation of the cylinder around the magnetic assembly using a motor. Stainless bolts are used to install the magnetic element at the bottom plate with the axis of the magnetic yoke extending out of the cylinder. The axis of the magnetic yoke is fitted with cranks used for adjusting the angle of the magnetic assembly when necessary. The working area of the cell is made of a stainless steel plate while the other parts of the frame and cell are made of common welded steel.

Working Theory of Magnetic Separator: The mineral slurry, which consists of loosened particles, is fed into the cell through a box feeder. The liquid flows through the system and the magnetic field will cause the magnetic particles to swarm together forming a magnetic cluster or chain. This magnetic cluster or chain is attracted to the cylinder due to the magnetic force. The revolution of the cylinder around the magnetic field causes the non-magnetic particles to fall off while the magnetic ones remain attached. The magnetic material moves along the cylinder to the end of the point where the magnetic force is weakest at the end of the magnetic system. At this end, the magnetic material is discharged into the concentrate tank by the current produced by the discharging-ore pipe. The rest of the non magnetic material as well as those with low levels of magnetism are discharged together with the slurry.

Performance and Features of magnetic separator: The magnetic separator machine is fitted with a magnetic system that is of high quality. The system is made of iron oxide and rare earth magnetic steel. The cylinder surface has an average magnetic induction intensity of 100-600mT. The machine can be custom made to fit the needs of the customer. It can be of co-current, half-countercurrent, counter current, etc.

The magnetic separator has many advantages including having a simple structure, possessing a large processing volume capacity, convenient to operate, is easy to maintain, among others.
