The roll-fed labeler just described is often referred to a "linear" machine in the industry, it was designed specially for round container (glass/metal/pet bottles).Containers enter the machine through an infeed conveyor and are separated and metered by a rotating feed screw and/or a "starwheel" with pockets.Labeled ones are delivered to a rotating vacuum drum which is carrying the cut and glued label.Containers are rolled across label.The labeled container is discharged from the drum conveyer.Labels are supplied in the form of a continuous web and cut in precise registration with a printed graphic.These are coated with a customized hot-melt adhesive pattern using a glue wheel applicator.Coating only the leading and trailing edges of the label to minimize adhesive consumption.The speed can be 400bpm.
