Pasi Gong/Ma Xi Gong 1. used in circus and opera 2. Made of Electrolytic Copper and Tin
The Pasi Gong is called "Ma Xi Gong" in Chinese. "Ma Xi" means circus. As you can see from our other
Gongs' description, most of them are used in circus and opera. Maybe some of the description have
confused you, and you even don't know what the difference among them. But that doesn't matter, even
if you choose the "wrong", the mistaken one can also give you the right sound and expected effect.
The Pasi Gong is made of 80% copper and 20% tin, the same as other gongs. This kind of gong has
flat face and small lip on edge, which produces long sustaining tones, many overtones and excellent
crash effects. It is effective for musical settings. The Pasi Gong is very sensitive to the touch and can
give soft or loud volumes. Because its long sustaining tones and good volume, it is traditionally used
to make announcements, like at the start of a performance such as a play, the circus or musical
performance.
There is only one size for Pasi Gong whose diameter is 12 inch. If you want to match a stand for the gong,
the size of 23 inch tall, 20 inch wide and 5 inch deep is advised.
