The official unveilling ceremony of Wengyuan Guangye L&P Food Ingredient Co., Ltd was held in Wengyuan Science and Technology Industrial Park in June,28th,2011.As the production base of Guangdong Food Industry Institute (GDFII), Wengyuan Guangye L&P Food Ingredient Co., Ltd will be constructing the production line for Sucralose of 1000 MT annual capacity, TBHQ of 1000 MT annual capacity and other food additives. The construction project is divided into two stages: the first stage is expected to be finished in 2012 and the second in 2014. The accomplishment of the project will further promote the development of enterprise restructuring; accelerate GDFII’s being more professional, commercial and international and qualify GDFII to provide more high-tech and excellent-quality food additives.

Zein, the major prolamin in corn, is the perfect coating agent by its excellent film-forming capability, low hydrophilicity and high oxygen barrier property. Zein is presently used in foods and pharmaceutical ingredients for quality preservation, fresh-keeping and glazing.

Applications

Zein has found application in the food industry as a film former for candy, fruit, vegetable, nuts, cereals, and etc. Zein is also used to coat pharmaceutical tablets and seeds, especially as enteric and time-release coatings.
