Cinnamic aldehyde is used in some perfumes of natural, sweet, orfruity scents. Almond, apricot, butterscotch, and other aromas may partiallyemploy the compound for their pleasant smells.


Cinnamic aldehyde is also used as a fungicide. Proven effective on over 40different crops, cinnamic aldehyde is typically applied to the root systems ofplants.
