DIN1.2311is a general purpose mold steel designed for the plastic mold industry. With a combination of Chromium, Manganese, Molybdenum, and Carbon, as well as being pre-hardened, DIN1.2311is a very popular mold steel grade.
DIN1.2311 is used for plastic injection and compression molds, and zinc die casting dies. Molds from this material can be made and placed directly into service.
DIN1.2311is sold in the pre-hardened condition. Typical annealed hardness is BHN 286/301 RC 30/32.
DIN1.2311maximum working hardness is BHN 301 RC 32. (Further heat treating is not normally required. )
DIN1.2311is capable of meeting ASTM-A681.
