· Materials: brass, copper, and phosphor bronze wire
· Copper wire:
o Copper wire offers excellent electrical and thermal conductivity
o Nonmagnetic, anti-sparking, and is resistant to atmospheric corrosion, salt air, and brine
o Copper applications are limited due to its low tensile strength, poor resistance to abrasion, and common acids
· Brass wire:
o High brass (70% copper and 30% zinc) wire and low brass (80% copper and 20% zinc) wire have much better abrasion resistance, better corrosion resistance and lower electrical conductivity when compared to copper wire
· Phosphor bronze wire:
o Copper-tin (4 to 9% tin, approximately 0.25% phosphorous, with the balance copper) alloy wire is resistant to corrosion and wear and tear
o Frequently used in the past for manufacturing of fine mesh cloths
· Brass wire cloth:
o Excellent for marine and outdoor applications due to its immunity to rusting and salt solutions
o Ideal mesh for fabricating gasoline filters and baskets for electro-polishing
o Possesses greater strength than copper or bronze
· Copper wire cloth:
o Primary usages of copper in wire cloth are in those applications requiring corrosion resistance, electrical and thermal conductivity, spark resistance, and nonmagnetic
· Applications:
o Traveling water screens, radio frequency interference shielding, sugar processing, and marine applications
· Customized packaging is accepted
