Washing Tips
Wash by Hand.
There is a small label for maintenance and laundry instruction inside each feather coat. You may have found that 90% of the instructions require hand wash and no dry wash, because the dry cleaning chemicals may lower the warmth insulation and age the cloth. Twitched by washing machine and tumble-dry, the fillers are extremely easily got deformed, which will make it less beautiful and less warmer.
Rinse by water at 30.
Soak feather coat into cold water for 20 minutes and sufficiently wet the coat. Put some washing agent into water at 30, soak the coat into warm water for 15 minutes and scrub it with soft brush. Rinse the coat with warm water too so that the washing agent can completely dissolve in water and the coat will be cleaner.
No high concentration of laundry powder.
4-5 table spoons of laundry powder for two basins water if laundry powder is needed. High-concentration laundry powder is difficult to rinse and the residual laundry powder in feathers will get less fluffy and lower the warmth.
Better use neutral detergent.
Neutral detergents do least injuries to cloth and fluff. The residual alkaline detergents caused by incomplete rinse may injure feather coat and leave white traces on the coat. To get rid of alkaline detergent, put two spoons of edible vinegar into warm water after rinse the coat twice and dip the coat for a while then rinse it. The vinegar can neutralize alkaline detergents.
No wringing.
Dont wring feather coat after washing it. Squeeze out the water, spread or hang it. Dont expose the coat in sunlight directly and no ironing so as not to scorch the coat. After drying the clothes, pat it to make the feather fluffy. Correct laundering--dip feather coat into cold water for two minutes then squeeze out water. Put two table spoons of laundry powder into water at 20-30 then put the coat into the water and take it out after dipping it for 5-10 minutes. Spread the coat on clean board and scrub it with soft brush dipped with detergent. Rinse it by warm water at 30 twice then wash it by clean water for three times to get rid of the residual agent. Absorb water from clean feather coat by dry towel, dry it under sunshine or with ventilation. When the coat gets dry, pat it by small rod to retrieve bulking.
