2. Project Introduction

2.1 Working Principle

NaA Zeolite Membrane pore diameter is bigger than water molecule but less than ethanol molecule and NaA Zeolite Membrane has very strong affinity to the water. Water molecule can be adsorbed and pass through the NaA Zeolite Membrane but the alcohol molecule must be blocked. Inject the ethanol solvent into the NaA pipe and use the vacuum pump to drop the pressure from the outside of the NaA pipe to case the differential pressure. The small molecule will permeate and adsorbed by the pipe wall and boil off. In this way the water can be separated form the ethanol solvent maximal.( Reference to the pictures)

2.2 NaA zeolite Membrane Features

(1)Compared with old style extraction,tribasic azeotropy and molecular sieve adsorption, NaA Zeolite Membrane Pervaporation Separation costs lessenergy consumption and it can save 1/3-2/3 energy.

(2)No need to add third component(like entrainer) during the separation process so the NaA Zeolite Membrane Pervaporation Separation can ensure the solvent purity and it is extremely fit for the pharmaceutical chemical industry solvent requirements.

(3)The separation process is totally enclosed, no pollution and be returned to the forestage distillation recovery so the process is low-loss.

(4)The system is in small size, no need vacuum-housing, and convenience in maintenance

2.3 Process Flow

The alcohol solvent contain 8% water get across the heat exchanger to the evaporator and vaporized. After the alcohol vapour get across the 2 NaA Zeolite Membrane equipments its water content will less than 1%.Then,the alcohol will be condensed by the heat exchanger and become the final product.

The water separated by the NaA Zeolite Membrane will took by vacuum system and condensed by condenser. After that the recovered water can be treated by the NaA Zeolite Membrane Pervaporation Separation system again.
