Foundry Alkaline phenolic resin
Phenolic resins are a two part Estercured phenolic binder system that uses an alkaline phenolic resin. The ester coreactant controls the cure rate.
It is a brownred transparent liquid with the following characteristics:
1. The system contains no Nitrogen, Sulphur, or Phosphorous reducing the potential for casting porosity defects.
2. The organic ester hardening systems high temperature thermoplastic and secondary cure further cross-links the polymer reducing hot cracking and veining of steel and ductile iron castings
3. The process does not generate harmful, irritating, or noxious odors, significantly improving the work environment.
4. Good collapsibility reduces workload for cleaning and improves work efficiency.

a. Mixing Proportion
Sand 100
Resin 1.52.0% of sand weight
Hardener 20%--30% of resin weight
b. Mixing Process
Mix sand with hardener, and then add resin. Normally the mixing time is 5 to 60 seconds.
CAUTIONS
a. The resins are highly alkaline, and normal precautions for handling chemicals should be used. As with all chemicals, protective clothing, chemical resistant gloves and facemasks should be used.
b. Resin drums should be stored sealed. If hardener comes in contact with skin, wash immediately with large quantity of clean water.
c. Resin should be kept in cold and dry place out of direct sunlight. Handle cautiously.
