How to use it for iPad:

The USB Port: Plug the connection into the dock connector port on your iPad, and then attach your digital camera or iPhone (excluded iPhone3G) via a USB cable. Or import photos to iPad through USB flash disk, but this kit is not available for all usb flash disk. Besides, the USB port supports external PC keyboard input, but not for all usb keyboard.

SD card port: Plug the connection into the dock connector port on your iPad, and then insert your SD card.

After plug in the connection, your iPad automatically opens the Photos APP, which lets you choose photos/videos to import, then organizes the selected photos/videos into albums. The Connection Kit supports standard photo formats, such as JPEG and RAW etc. The picture files need to be saved in named “DCIM” folder. The digital camera can create “DCIM” folder automatically, but if USB flash disk/SD card, you must create “DCIM” folder and copy manually. If the capacity of SD/Micro SD card/USB flash disk is 16GB or more, then the kit can’t absolutely read all of them. Because these memory devices require more power than iPad.

Compatibility

The Camera Connector is compatible with USB cameras that support Picture Transfer Protocol(PTP) or mass storage class devices.

The SD Card Reader is compatible with Secure Digital(Standard SD and SDHC)memory cards. Mini and Micro SD are supported when used with an adapter to fit the slot (adapter not included). MMC cards are also supported.

Tips and Troubleshooting

If your camera didn’t come with a USB cable, you need to purchase one. See the camera manufacture’s website to find compatible cables.

If photos aren’t transferring, be sure your camera is turned on and set to the correct mode for transferring photos (see the instructions provided with your camera). Also be sure the cable is connected firmly to your camera and to the Camera Connector Completely unplug the connector, USB cable, and camera or card, then reconnect them and try again.
