Yunnan Gold Black Tea – An exceptional black tea from the ancient tea forests of Yunnan Province of China. The leaves were picked from a government protected tea forest in Yunnan Province along the Lan Chang River. The tea trees in this region grow wild and are not cultivated or groomed. The leaves may be picked, but the tea trees are not allowed to be cut down or cultivated in any way. Most of the trees in this forest are over 100 years old and many may be closer to 1,000 years old. All the teas from this protected area have an international organic certification, because they cannot be “farmed”. Our Yunnan Gold Black Tea has been picked and processed using traditional methods of drying, withering, and oxidation.
