Bamboo flooring can be easily installed and maintained similarly as traditional hardwoods: 1. Keep the package open in the installation area for at least 3-5 days to acclimatize in the area. After temperature and humidity reach the same level with the area to be installed, then begin to install.
2. Sub-floor must be clean and dry. A PEVA film can be spread on the sub-floor to avoid moisture. If sub-floor is wood, it's better shaped as "#", so that bamboo floor can be nailed directly to the wood.3. Work out of multiple (3-5) boxes. Bamboo is a natural product and has slight color variation board to board. So unpack the different boxes and lay out ahead of the installer so that color variation can be mixed in a natural, random pattern and not consolidated in a single area.4. Installation can be started square with the room and parallel to its longest dimension by positioning with a chalk line, leaving 1/4" expansion space from base wall. Ensure starter rows are firmly in place by wedging or nailing. Once initial rows are secure, second and further courses shall be blind nailed directly above tongue at a 45-50 degree angle to the face. Fasteners shall be spaced at 10-12 inch intervals with a minimum of 2 fasteners per piece.5. Concrete sub-floor must have all cracks and holes filled with a cement-based patching material. Surfaces must be clean, dry, smooth and free of dirt, wax, oil, paint, curing agents, and other contaminants that would interfere with adhesive bond. Spread high grade adhesive over the surface,immediately place flooring onto adhesive with the same direction as No.4.
MAINTENANCE1. Keep the floor clean. Wipe with soft wet rag or mop for usual care.2. Keep the floor free of water. When splashed with water, dry it in time.3. Fit furniture legs with soft mat to avoid scratching.4. Use mats in the entrance of door to keep dirt or sand outside.5. Avoid scratching by hard objects or high-heeled shoes
