MC, HPMC and HEMC are non-ionic cellulose ethers produced from natural high molecular cellulose through series of chemical changes. They are characterized by the solubility in water, water retention, non-ionic type, stable PH value, surface activity, reversibility from gelling to solving at different temperature, thickening, binding, film-forming, lubricating and mold resistance. Due to all these special properties, they are widely applied for thickening, gelling, emulsifying, dispersing, stabilizing, water retaining and mixing improving in industries like building material, painting, synthetic resin, porcelain, medicine, food, textile, agriculture, cosmetics and tobacco.

The product consists of two kinds: product with surface treatment (product dispersible in cold water) and product without surface treatment (common type).

Effect:

To meet the need for green environment protection, Product MC, MK, and MH specially developed for building material industry have properties like high water retention, good dispersing performance, small fineness, easy to mix and ready to dissolve, etc. These two kinds of products are suitable for many new types of building materials like dry powdermortar, water-resistant putty powder (Paste) for inner and outer walls, binder, seam filler, surface, water paint, auto-flow leveling agent, plaster, etc. Cellulose Ether is an indispensable additive for cement and plaster-base building material. After the introduction of MC, HPMC or HEMC, the building material performances described hereafter could be improved:

Water retention --- Improved water retention can protect cement and plaster against poor solidification and cracking due to too speedy drying and inefficient mixing with water. Workability --- Mortar plasticizing quality can be improved, which in turn will improve the workability of painting and working efficiency.Binding --- Due to the increased plasticizing quality, mortar can be a better binder.Slipping-resistance --- Due to the thickening action of Cellulose Ether, the slipping phenomena of mortar from substance to be bound can be prevented more efficiently.

Dissolving methods:

Product with surface treatment (S) can be added in top water directly and can disperse quickly through agitating. The solution PH value can be adjusted to the range of 8 ~ 9 by adding in alkali in form of ammonia and NA2CO3. By agitating the solution viscosity can be increased.Product without surface treatment can swell and disperse in hot water with temperature higher than 85°C. Usually it is dissolved by the following methods.Take about 1/5 ~ 1/3 of the needed hot water and agitate so that the added product will swell completely, then add in the remained water, which can be hot or cold, agitate to the appropriate temperature and the product can dissolve completely. As to dissolve MC, HPMC or HEMC by hot water method, it is very important to cool the mixture down. To dissolve the product completely and form ideal transparent solution, the temperature is dependent upon to type of MC, HPMC or HEMC.Dispersing by dry mixing, I.e., the product can be mixed with other powder substance homogeneously first, and then top water is added in so that the product will dissolve quickly without any gel.Wetting with organic solvent. Disperse the product in organic solvent first or wet the product by organic solvent and then add the mixture into hot water or add in hot water, which could also dissolve the product efficiently. The organic solvent could be ethanol or ethandiol.Introducing in product directly during manufacture. First add tap water into the vessel with mixer of high rotating speed and then add the product slowly while mixing. Continue mixing until the product is dissolved completely.

Note:

Highest viscosity shall be obtained by completely mixing or agitating both before and after the addition of the product.Direct addition of the product with surface treatment into alkaline water solution will lead to the failure of the surface treatment, resulting in gel. Therefore, product with surface treatment can not be added into the alkaline water solution directly.The concentration of the prepared solution shall be determined according to the product viscosity. The solution concentration of product with low viscosity (lower than 400 mPa.s) is 10 ~ 15%, and the solution concentration of product with high viscosity (more than 30,000 mPa.s) is 2 ~ 3% at most.

          The product is packed in polyethylene film bag enclosed in composite film bag. Net weight is 25 or 20 KG per bag.

   2.   Composite-fiberboard Drum

          The Product is packed in polyethylene film bag enclosed in composite-fiberboard drum. Net weight is 20 or 10 KG per drum.
