Brown fused alumina
1 Description
Brown Aluminium Oxide is fused in an electrical arc furnace at high temperature (approximately 2000 degrees Celsius) from a mixture of bauxite ,coal, iron scrap. Its appearance is brown colour.
It is characterized by great toughness, high mechanical resistance and high hardness (9 in Mohs scale). The micro hardness of the material reaches about 1900kG/mm2.
Specific gravity (density) equals 3.90+/-0.05cm3. Bulk density depending on size equals 1.52-1.87g/cm3. It has relatively high thermal conductivity and low thermal expansion.
It is the perfect material specifically manufactured to be used for general abrasive applications in bonded and coated abrasive tools, lapping and polishing industry. It is also used as a raw material in the manufacture of high alumina refractory.
2 Application

Brown Fused Alumina AP-17C
It is made from the brown aluminum second grade sand.., the grain shape is very sharp, the strip and needle shape are well kicked out of the grains. With the concentrated size distribution and dust collected by well water washing, It can be used for producing all kinds of Coated Abrasive products, such as sand paper, cloth, rolls, belts, etc. Our product is produced strictly based on the FEPA standard.we call it brown aluminum second grade P sand.
